Hi! I’m Alexis Rae, a Resident in Counseling dedicated to providing compassionate, client- centered care. I work with children, adolescents, and adults in both individual and group settings, supporting clients through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I believe every person has the potential for growth and change, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood.

I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia. My clinical experience spans outpatient private practice and residential care, where I’ve supported children with emotional and behavioral challenges as well as adults navigating serious mental illness.

While grounded in person-centered therapy, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. I aim to provide a collaborative, flexible approach that fosters resilience, self- awareness, and lasting positive change.

Originally from Charlottesville, VA, I now live in Midlothian. Outside of counseling, I enjoy time with loved ones and dog, staying active, exploring new places, and appreciating life’s simple joys.
