Heather Robertson, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, graduated with a Masters of Science in
Community Counseling from Longwood University and a Post Graduate certificate in Professional Counseling from VCU. My professional experiences are in group therapy, intensive in-home, and outpatient therapy in community settings and within the office. I enjoy working with teens, adults, couples and families to help them find a path forward toward their desired goals addressing depression, anxiety, family conflicts, trauma and transitions using techniques informed by CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-focused, and DBT.
My optimal therapeutic process includes collaboration between client and counselor, through Godly vision, to accomplish short and long-term goals addressing maladaptive behaviors, mental health struggles and conflict resolution among other areas. God rests at the pinnacle of this process to reveal the fulfilling purposes only He can provide through each person’s experiences.
Outside of the office, I fully bask in the awesome blessing of being a mom and wife. I have two kids and 2 pups, Wendy and Elsa. I am a sports enthusiast of basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball to name a few. I enjoy listening to teaching and podcasts on mental health, marriage, parenting and spiritual growth. I look forward to unplugging by a beach, listening to all types of music and watching movies. I have recently discovered Mahjong with friends and family.
As a counselor, it is truly my honor and privilege to walk along-side each person in their journey toward healing transformation and self-discovery to provide examination, comfort and encouragement through each step.
