Katie Cole, Graduate Intern

Katie is currently an intern with Fig Tree to complete her master’s degree in Christian
Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. A diverse range of personal and professional experiences guided her to the counseling profession – including work with Christian non-profits and living abroad in Asia. These experiences have also shaped her identity and practice as a counselor-in-training. She has a particular interest in grief, trauma, and transitions; drawing from person-centered and family systems theories in her clinical approach. She also brings a special interest in working with individuals navigating cross-cultural experiences, including those living internationally or adjusting to new cultural contexts.

Katie has called Richmond home since late 2020. In 2024, she and her husband welcomed their first baby, joining their two much-loved cats. Outside of her professional life, Katie is likely walking along the James River, designing floral arrangements, or spending time with her family.
