JaLisa Jones is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Minister of the Gospel. JaLisa has been practicing counseling since 2013 in different capacities. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Masters of Art in Professional Counseling, from Liberty University. JaLisa believes her mission is to bridge individual and generational gaps through the lens of theology and therapy, in hopes to encourage a renewed mind and spirit that points to Christ and identifies purpose.

JaLisa believes in walking along side individuals as they explore their mental health journey. She also believes it is important for individuals to recognize how accountability can serve as a conduit to exploring unwanted truths that keep individuals in cycles. JaLisa has expanded experience working with a diverse range of clients, to include adults, adolescents, couples, and families. She has collaborated with different populations throughout her work history, such as community-based, parent coaching, intensive in-home, outpatient therapy, and residential setting.

JaLisa enjoys working with clients who are open to various modalities of treatment and willing to be an active participant in their treatment. For example, she utilizes a person-centered approach, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy techniques, FFT, and SFBT. She possesses a strong passion for clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, family/ relationship discord, unforgiveness, stress, narcissism, low self-esteem, and identity issues.

In addition, to counseling, JaLisa finds purpose through her nonprofit organization called Purposeful H.E.R. Foundation which promotes purposeful- healing, enlightenment, and relationships. Her nonprofit focuses on helping women to reach their destiny from all backgrounds and give back to the community. She is also the creator of the podcast Cranberry Juice in a Wine Glass. JaLisa and her co-host speak to real life issues, with an emphasis on generational curses, building a relationship with God, and an individual’s accountability to healing.

In her spare time, JaLisa enjoys attending church, writing, reading, eating crab legs, fishing, playing basketball, binge watching a good series, shopping, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends. She finds her most pleasurable moments, during her favorite part of the day, early in the morning with a cup of coffee.
