Workshops for Ministry Leaders and Volunteers

Supporting Those Who Serve Others

The church plays a vital role in caring for people through life’s most difficult moments.

But those doing the caring—pastors, staff, and volunteers—are often carrying more than they were meant to hold alone.

At Fig Tree Therapy, we offer workshops for ministry leaders designed to support emotional health, strengthen relationships, and equip you with practical tools for sustainable ministry.

This is not about doing less.
It’s about learning how to serve well—without carrying what isn’t yours to carry.

A Conversation on Ministry & Emotional Health

In this conversation, we talk about what ministry leaders are actually facing—burnout, compassion fatigue, and the weight of walking closely with others through difficult seasons.

Why This Matters

Ministry often means being present with people in:

  • grief and loss
  • crisis and trauma
  • addiction, depression, and anxiety
  • complex relational situations

Over time, many leaders find themselves:

  • carrying others’ burdens long after the conversation ends
  • unsure where their responsibility begins and ends
  • feeling emotionally and spiritually depleted

As one of the themes in our work highlights—there is often a desire to keep giving, even when there is little left to give.

We believe ministry leaders need space to:

  • process what they are carrying
  • develop clarity around their role
  • and learn how to remain present without becoming overwhelmed

Our Approach

A Biopsychosocialspiritual Framework

Our workshops are grounded in a whole-person approach to mental health, integrating:

  • Clinical insight
  • Relational skill development
  • Emotional awareness
  • Spiritual formation

We do not separate faith and mental health.

We approach this work through a Christ-centered lens, where:

  • service and boundaries can coexist
  • compassion does not require overextension
  • and care for others includes care for self
