Megan Schalembier, LCSW
Welcome! I’m Megan Schalembier, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate aboutsupporting children (ages 4+), adolescents, young adults, families, and siblings as they navigate life’s challenges. My clinical focus includes working through trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and developing stronger social skills.
I strive to create a safe, empathetic, and engaging environment where clients feel empowered to grow and heal. Whether I’m working one-on-one or with families, my goal is to meet clients where they are and support them with compassion and evidence-based care.
I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. I obtained a deep appreciation for integrating my religious beliefs into all aspects of my life, including my service to others as a counselor. I enjoy learning about clients’ spiritual backgrounds and the ability to provide them holistic treatment. I create a safe environment for individuals to talk about their faith, experiences as a member of a religious community, spiritual practices, and the beliefs that give them meaning.
I have experience working in public schools as a school social worker. I am familiar with the IEP/504 processes and can help families navigate that challenging system. I work with parents and other caregivers to advocate for their student’s needs.
Currently, I’m pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Regent University, where I’ve just completed my first year. I’m also nearing full certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as completing my training and certification as a Therapeutic Game Master with TPMG’s innovative therapy program using role-playing games.
Please let me know if your child or teen has interest in joining a role-playing group to work on social skills. I also love play therapy and utilize many other techniques such as CBT, ACT, and DBT. I am working on obtaining certification in EMDR.
I have two young kids and a chocolate lab mix that keeps my husband and I very busy. We love the beach and being outdoors as much as we can! Thank you for visiting—I look forward to connecting with you on your journey toward wellness.
